Rickis Bloody Nose

Sorry to say folks but our Ricki lost on Monday ,it was that nose of his that let him down again , in what was a good hard scrap .Ricki was behind after the first round and had some catching up to do ,which he did half way through the 2nd round he caught his opponent with a sweet left hook which stopped him in his tracks and resulted in the ref giving him a standing count , but at the same time Ricki's nose started to bleed and the doctor had to have a look, he let him carry on but warned us if if carried on bleeding he would have to stop it , and that is exactly what happened in the 3rd round .So the gloves have been hung up and he wont box now until he gets his nose sorted out which hopefully will not be to long to wait.

SENIOR NOVICE CHAMPIONSHIPS

This happy smiling chappy known locally as Ricki the Ripper is boxing in the quarter finals of the senior novice ABAs Tuesday 18th November in Nantwich .He is boxing a guy called Tony Dean from Darnell and Heywood ,he was due to box him 2 weeks ago but it never happened, so this is a contest both lads are looking forward to ,there are 11 bouts on the card so it should be a good nights boxing .

Well to all you doubters ,we did it , and i must cofess it is one of the hardest things that i have done for years .Steve who organised our little adventure was shocked himself at the severity of the walk which in reality was a fell race organised by the AAA who might i add are a gang of snotty ho ray Henrys ,and some of the most ignorant gang of b-------s that you wold which to meet.

Anyway it took us 3hrs 45 Min's to complete ,it was 11miles all round and 1500 ft at the and i have got some wonderful blisters for my efforts ,but it will be worth it if everybody who pledged a few quid pay up .

So get your wallets out folks and thanks to you all

I think have finally lost it ,some how or other i have been talked into doing some thing that i vowed i would never do again and that is run ,yes that horrible thing that i always try to make you all do, this weekend i am going to attempt to run walk climb or crawl 11 miles up some hill in Wales that i cant pronounce never mind spell ,but i will try it is some thing like Pememwaer ,it is 1,600 ft high and should be quite a challenge . My friend who has talked me into this Steven Wright has done this a few times ,so my goal is to finish ahead of him .

A Few people have sponsored me to do this so if i do finish it we should have a few more pennies towards our new second hand bus ,if you didn't know by the way we got our old one back that was stolen ,but it now runs like a bag of sh--- ,so if there is any one out there with a few bob who would like to sponsor me feel free to do so .

KARL RICKI

Friday 31st October ,we Traveled to Darnell Heyworth show in Rochdale ,it was a night we were all looking forward to ,having both our big boys boxing on the same show Ricki and Karl .

Both lads had trained hard for this show, Karl especially as he was boxing last seasons ABA champ in Danny Benson ,and Ricki boxing the home club favourite Anthony Dean ,but sorry to say Ricky's bout never came off because of A cock up over his medical card ,so to say we were gutted is an under statement .

Anyway Karl was his usual cool self leading up to fight ,kissing and cuddling his girl friend {honest ] i know weird or what ? ,but hey if it works it works we will have to see if he can take her with him on his internationals , the contest started at a terrific pace with Danny trying to impose himself from the middle with his long sharp jab which he did manage to do for half a round till Karl woke up and started to find his range with some lovely right crosses which sent Danny into reverse gear ,the first round was hard to split, .Coming out for the second Danny must have had orders to stay on his back foot and counter ,which he did with some effect as he landed some powerful straight jabs ,Karl hunted him down and was landing some terrific body shots which started to take there toll as young Benson looked like he was going to fold but the lad kept trying .

In the final round Karl went for broke ,again switching from head to body resulting in Danny having to take 3 standing counts ,by this time he just wanted a way out of the ring and i must say that it would have been merciful if the ref had stopped it but he did not and at the final bell Karl was awarded a unanimous well deserved verdict . But as he commented himself ,this was his first of the season and he must get fitter and faster as this was only a 3 rounder and the next fights could all be over 4 rounds , well done kid.
